About This

  • Soak the seeds: Soak the Texas Star Hibiscus seeds in a bowl of warm water for 24 hours. This helps to soften the hard seed coat and improve germination.
  • Prepare the planting container: Fill a seed-starting tray or small pots with a well-draining potting mix. Moisten the soil with water, but do not make it waterlogged.
  • Plant the seeds: Plant the Texas Star Hibiscus seeds about 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep in the soil, with one seed per pot or cell. Cover the seeds lightly with soil.
  • Cover the tray: Cover the seed-starting tray with plastic wrap or a clear lid to create a greenhouse-like environment that will help to retain moisture and warmth. Place the tray in a warm, bright location, but out of direct sunlight.
