About This

  • Beautiful - Large premium packet of Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) seed. A perennial herb reaching 3-5 feet tall, with vanilla scented clusters of flowers that are highly attractive to pollinators. Valerian root is a useful medicinal herb that is useful for promoting sleep. Minimum of 300 mg per packet (about 600 seeds).
  • Productive - Valerian germinates in 14-21 days when soil temps are 60-75°F. Plant 1/4” deep and space 18-24” apart in an area with full sun or partial shade. This variety will grow 3-5’ tall with a spread of 2-4’.Flowers will mature in 90-110 days but the root will not be ready to harvest until second year. Plant in USDA zones 4-9.
  • Always Have Valerian on Hand - This perennial variety has many medicinal properties that you can explore. The roots and rhizomes of the plant are used to aid insomnia, anxiety, and depression. The fern-like leaves and fragrant flowers will bring beauty and pollinators as well.
